AWARDED PHOTOS

A mixture of portfolios and single photos awarded in local and international photography contests.

Australasia's Top Emerging Photographers (2019)

Landscape - Commended

In the early hours of an exceptional January morning in Sossusvlei, in the Namib Desert, Namibia, Africa two other photographers and I embarked on a gob smack helicopter ride. A few minutes after we took off, we witnessed history: a huge sea of fog had taken over the dunes! The clouds were playing with the sunlight and the ridges of the dunes. We were swinging with the hot air and our cameras were releasing images that not many of us have.

Photographer Of The Year (2019)

‘A Neat Net Throw At Dawn’, ‘The Barong Dancer’ and ‘The Salt-Water Carrier’ were taken during a photographic trip in Bali. I was fortunate enough to meet with a fisherman, a young Barong dancer and a saltwater carrier, which allowed me to connect with a deep and hidden side of this highly spiritual Indonesian island.

‘Ghostland’, ‘Rippled Sand’ and ‘C’ were taken in Sossussvlei, Namibia, Africa, one the most inspiring places I’ve ever been to. The out of this world landscapes are enhanced by the very dry vegetation, wildlife and especially the light of the sun that changes throughout the day.

I took ‘Buddies’ in Sanur Beach, Bali as I was playing around with some settings to capture the poetry of this location.

Travel - Commended
The Snake Goes Underground

In Sossusvlei, a Bitis Peringueyi (snake) hides under the brown and warm sand. I had never seen a snake doing that before! So, I’ve learnt that whilst walking in the hot sand of the desert, I must always wear shoes and look at the ground to see if I’m not walking over a hidden snake.

Wildlife and Animal - Commended

In Kanaan, Namib Desert, Namibia, Africa, KFC and Hannabelle, two young and majestic cheetahs analyse that funny and weird animal called a human who came up for a visit with their cameras. Because of the power, authority and elegance they carry, meeting with Hannabelle and KFC have marked me for life. I fell in love with the fastest animal on earth. I can’t wait to meet them again in the wild!

Australasia's Top Emerging Photographers (2020)

Portrait - Commended

I finished my trip to Bali, at our guide’s home, with a private performance of one of the native and sacred dances of the Balinese culture, performed by one of the nieces of our guide.

Barong is a spiritual and storytelling dance that narrates the eternal fight between good and evil.
